Pomodorini del Piennolo del Vesuvio DOP
Pomodorino del Piennolo del Vesuvio, is an ancient Vesuvian crop that owes its name to the custom of farmers to weave bunches of cherry tomatoes around a string tied in a circle to form a large bunch (the piennolo) then hung in a dry and ventilated environment. Rich in organic acids, with a fresh, acrid flavour, it has a leathery skin that ensures that nutrients are preserved over time.
